An R7s lamp is a linear shape lamp, also known as double-ended lamp. It's commonly used as outdoor flood lights, security lights, landscape lights, parking lights, stage and studio lamps, and also some indoor flood or decorative lights. Incandescent R7s lighting bulbs produce substantial heat during lighting operations. Halogen based lighting also produces considerable non-visible infrared light. These conventional lighting products have low conversion efficiencies from electricity to light and waste tremendous amount of energies. Light emitting diodes (LEDs) have a lot of advantages compared to incandescent and halogen lights. An LED is constructed of an electroluminescent semiconductor material, which has lower voltage, high efficiency, good monochromaticity, excellent applicability, superior stability, short time of response, long service, no pollution and the like so it is extensively employed in the field of illumination. Whilst incandescent bulbs are often inefficient, using only 2-3% of their power to generate light, at the same time the remaining 97-98% of their power is lost as heat. Incandescent and halogen bulbs may have a life span of 2000 hours before the filament fails, LEDs may last as long as 50,000 hours. The LED R7s lamp allows to use the LED technology for luminaires with a R7s socket (i.e. traditional double ended halogen lamps with tube base). It's time to upgrade flood and projection lights from high watt halogen lamps to energy efficient low maintenance LED. Typical R7s
LED lamp has various lengths, like 78mm, 118mm, 189mm, 254mm, 333mm, with different powers.
