Lighting fixtures can be mounted in many different ways in order to meet the specific design applications. A suspended (pendant) light fixture is hung from a ceiling by supports. One or more cables connecting the housing to an overhead location can also be included. Flush mounted or recessed luminaire is mounted above the ceiling (or behind a wall or other surface) with the opening of the luminaire level with the surface. Semi-flush mount means the light fixture is positioned some distance away from the mounting surface. The regressed luminaire is mounted above the ceiling (or behind a wall or other surface) with the opening of the luminaire above the ceiling line. Surface mounted light fixtures are mounted directly on a wall or on the ceiling.
