The Sunny desk lamp creates a comfortable balance of illumination throughout the task area within the horizontal and vertical view of an occupant. A linear light module with higher LED density on each side ensures no axial reduction in illuminance toward the edges of the target area. A smoothly angled shade provides tight lateral control and enables an asymmetric forward throw so that the lamp can be placed at the side of the desk. Light coming from the LEDs is diffused by an anti-glare polycarbonate lens and emanates in the asymmetric pattern with a mix of penetratively diffused light (through PC lens) and diffuse reflected light (from the angled shade).

LED desk lamps sacrifice the visual comforting factor for aesthetic simplicity and physical compactness of the fixture. Light emitted from these flat panel or stick LED assemblies is not shielded from the view angle. Unshielded bright light strikes human eyes and causes discomfort. The Sunny desk lamp which controls lateral light distribution using an angled shade does not expose the light source to the eyes when the perpendicular distance from the seated eye level to desk surface is kept to a minimum of 300mm. The proportionally optimized LED mounting density facilitates a balanced axial light distribution. Combined with the precise lateral spread shaped by the computer optimized reflective shade, the Sunny LED desk lamp delivers balanced, glare-free illumination with an industry leading illuminance uniformity - a ratio less than 2:1 over a 450mm x 300mm work area.
Shining at a soft white 3000 kelvin color temperature, the desk lamp produces 1190 lumens of high quality light while consuming just 14 watts of electrical power. The LED lamp utilizes the best-in-class SMD2835 LEDs which takes advantage of advanced phosphor technology to create high gamut color rendering. The 95 CRI LED array faithfully renders colors and whites across the broad wavelength range of the visible radiation spectrum. The high CRI white light produced from the Sunny desk lamp closely mimics the radiation spectral distribution of natural daylight and brings out more vibrant colors and patterns. The surface mount LED packages come with an IEC blue light hazard classification of RG0 (Risk Group 0: The lamp poses no photobiological hazard). Blue light, in the wavelengths of 400-480 nm, is known to accelerate the onset of macular degeneration and cause irreversible, oxidative damages to retinal cells.
The desk lamp operates with a high performance
LED driver which provides high efficiency power conversion and accurate control of the forward current flowing through the LEDs. The constant current driver rectifies and smoothes the transformed AC power with highly matched electrical characteristics, low output ripple and noise (120 mVp-p max.) in the output current provided to the LED array. Excellent load regulation eliminates visible flicker and stroboscopic effect which have negative impact on the comfort of the eyes and visual performance.
A sturdy metal construction with a weighted base provides added stability and durability. The angled light shade is made of high thermal conductivity aluminum alloy, which provides substantial thermal capacity to route heat away from the LED junction. Effective LED thermal management enables the LED to operate efficiently throughout it 50,000 hours of L70 life without phosphor and encapsulant thermal degradation which may cause lumen depreciation and color shift.
A touch dimmer switch located at the lamp base provides fiver levels of brightness. After 45 minutes of continuous operation at 75% or 100% light output the lamp will dim to 50% brightness, reminding the user to take a break.
