The PS001 hand wave proximity switch is designed to operate with Surmountor Lighting LED linear fixtures for use in cabinets, closets, drawers, cupboards, wardrobes, laboratories, hospital operating rooms, or any application where non-contact switching operation is required. This device functions as an on/off switch with high sensitivity and a maximum detection range of 10cm. With a load current of up to 6 amp this motion sensor can control up to 72 watts of 12VDC lighting or 144 watts of 24VDC lighting. The proximity detection circuitry provides a robust and cost-effective means for accurate detection and measurement of reflected infrared (IR) energy. It offers hands-free control for your light fixtures. The proximity sensor sends a string of infrared impulses and switch on/off the light if the strength of the reflected signal is above the detection threshold. The sensor operates in short-distance detection applications with a bi-switch mode. A wave of the hand can activate or turn off the lights. The proximity sensor takes a minimum duration of 0.5 seconds to register an action to make it more foolproof and prevent inadvertent operation. Measuring only 10mm in width, the proximity sensor module can be easily accommodated by most linear aluminum channels.
