The PS002 proximity switch is designed for operation in short-distance detection applications where non-contact on/off switching with full range dimming capabilities is required. The proximity detection module provides a robust control solution for linear light fixtures that use LED strip lights to deliver ambient, task or accent lighting. PS002 provides highly efficient transmission and reception of infrared energy ultra-low power consumption within a 10cm sensing distance. It compares the intensity of reflected infrared signal against a set threshold and activates or switch off the light when the strength of the reflected signal is above the detection threshold. The proximity sensing circuitry can detect small movement such as hand waving, providing operational convenience and virtually unlimited on-off cycle life due to non-contact switching. In addition to residential and commercial applications such as illumination of cabinets, closets, drawers, cupboards, wardrobes and shelves, PS002 provides a perfect solution for some niche applications that require very high hygiene standards such as food and beverage processing facilities, medical operation rooms, and laboratories, etc. The proximity sensor module also provides output manipulation and allows the connected light to be dimmed by holding the hand under the proximity sensor for over 3 seconds. The modified light intensity will be remembered by the dimmer sensor and set to default for the subsequent light activation. The proximity sensor is foolproof and requires a minimum duration of 0.5 seconds to register an action to make it immune from false, transient signals. With an output current of up to 6 amp this motion sensor can control up to 72 watts of 12VDC lighting or 144 watts of 24VDC lighting.
