The ZGSM L Series LED area lights are state-of-the-art area and road lighting systems with cast aluminum construction that offers strength and durability, while their modern styling provides a look of contemporary sophistication. Available with gooseneck post pendant mounting and pole/wall side entry mounting, the distinctive models offer an excellent choice in any outdoor commercial and residential applications. Asymmetrical type I, II, III, and symmetrical lens optics in combination with a choice of lumen packages allow the ZGSM L Series be scaled to perfection for effective building perimeter lighting, pedestrian area lighting, street and walkway lighting, and open-space lighting applications.

The area luminaire has a round, shallow domed housing which is constructed from high pressure die cast aluminum, delivering architectural strength, dimensional stability as well as superior heat management to the luminaire. The hinged top cover (top part of the housing) is mounted with all the functional components and serves as the heat sink to keep the critical components cool without relying on air convection. The domed top with a dirt-repellent surface prevents debris accumulation and foliage buildup. The bottom cover is lensed by a gasketed, heat and impact resistant tempered glass lens. A one-piece, weather and ageing resistant silicone rubber gasket seals the door frame to the housing for IP66 level ingress protection. A pressure stabilizing vent breather equalizes the internal/external air pressure to prevent seal fatigue and failure. A tightly controlled multi-stage cleaning and chromating process creates a corrosion resistant substrate on the exposed aluminum surface. Durable TGIC thermoset powder coat finish is electrostatically applied to the pre-treated aluminum surface for superior salt and humidity resistance as well as maximum retention of gloss and luster.

The area luminaire is engineered to provide exceptional long-term performance and bring across many enhanced benefits of utilizing solid state lighting technology, which include flexible lighting control, outstanding energy efficiency, extended life expectancy and maintenance-free operation. Its light engine incorporates Lumiled LUXEON 3030 2D LEDs which utilize epoxy molding compound (EMC) QFN LED packaging technology for exceptional reliability and excellent lumen maintenance. With a tightly controlled reflow soldering process in which creep resistant alloys are used to improve solder joint reliability, the MCPCB system has good solder joint performance that ensures significantly reduced thermal stresses from the LED junction area to the circuit board. A high conductivity dielectric layer keeps the thermal resistance of entire MCPCB board low and enables the board to continuously serve in high drive current or high temperature conditions.

Thanks to advanced passive thermal management and thermally optimized LED packages that support high drive current, the luminaire offers an exceptional combination of high efficacy and high lumen output with an L70 rating of 100,000 hours or more. The light engine uses 72, 96 120, 144 or 168 LEDs in 56, 59, 70, 78, 86 or 110 mA ratings. The ZGSM L Series LED area lights operates at a choice of wattages including 27W, 37W, 56W, 70W, 90W and 120W with light output of 3510, 4810, 7280, 9100, 11700 and 15000 lumens respectively. The high efficacy LEDs are molded with a one-piece polycarbonate lens to precisely bundle light and optimize the beams. The precision designed optical system provides improved horizontal and vertical uniformity with a high level of visual comfort that will impress every time.

The ZGSM L Series LED area lights are available in dimmable and non-dimmable versions with each powered by Inventronics and Mean Well driver technology. The high performance LED drivers with exceptional operating efficiency provide a constant-current output with a PF-corrected and low THD input over a wide range of operating conditions. The dimmable Inventronics driver has built-in 0-5V/0-10V/PWM/Time dimming options. The LED driver is robustly protected against overcurrent, short-circuit, overvoltage and over-temperature faults.  The electrical system includes a surge protection device (SPD) to provide 10kV common surge (line-to-ground) and differential surge (line-to-line) mode protection.
