Honeycomb is a ⌀644 mm luminous sphere that nestles on a 3000 mm tall, elegantly contoured pole. The luminous sphere comprises a plethora of 304 stainless steel tubes which are precision machined by a 3D fiber laser cutting system. Thanks to the three-dimensional accuracy and precision delivered by computer controlled mechanical engineering, exquisitely detailed and uniformly streamlined sectional geometries are created. The exposed interior surface of stainless steel tubes (honeycomb cells) serve both as light guides and optical reflectors. These stainless steel cells collaboratively form a spherical honeycomb and make up this geometric lighting wonder.
