With sophisticated design and refined engineering of the mechanics, optics and control systems, the Ayrton MagicPanel-FX delivers a new level of visual effect that is destined to evoke emotions in all fields of entertainment and theatrical applications. Building on the proven track record that Ayrton has attained around the world, this moving head stage light brings powerful rays of light, robust beam control, flawless color mixing and advanced automation to designers' fingertips. This fixture is unique in design with its 25 individually controllable high power RGBW LEDs built into a single platform with a sleek profile and compact footprint for multiple stage lighting applications. An excellent example of adaptiveness, performance and sustainability which are highly coveted in any top level application: from live concerts to TV productions, and all rental applications in professional show and commercial event lighting.
MagicPanel-FX is a true powerhouse which is capable of producing extraordinarily versatile beams with clear visuals. The high wattage (1,000 watts max) light engine delivers up to 13,500 lumens of punchy output with a luminous intensity as high as 2,070,000 cd (narrow beam). The high performance 4-in-1 RGBW LEDs indexed in a 5 x 5 array operate under the principles of additive color mixing and produce richly saturated colors across the visible spectrum at any level of saturation, as well as crisp white light and vibrant pastels. Each LED package is fitted with a TIR optic which serves to collimate the light from the four LED dies and bunches the wavelengths together to create secondary colors. Superior color mixing makes it possible for the moving head light to offer striation-free saturation at the shortest possible setback of 1.5 m (4.92 ft). This renders MagicPanel-FX to not only long-throw beam projections in large-scale events, but also close-range stage and studio lighting applications where nonspectral colors (combinations of more than one monochromatic color) are required to be perfectly presented with close-up camera shots, or flawlessly sensible within human acuity limits of the audience sitting at close proximity to the stages.
The LED moving head is equipped with an optical zoom system that has a 15:1 zoom ratio with a range of 3.6° to 53°. From a piercing beam that travels across large venues to create a spectacular visual dimension, a sharply defined spot beam for arresting visual effects, to a smoothly edged, vibrant wash of atmospheric light, there is never a shortage of beam effects in this versatile lighting system. Multiple square LED modules form a 2D screen which offers full pixel mapping for ultimate graphical effects. The squared 65 mm lens has an optical emission surface equivalent to that of an 80 mm round lens. Distinctive optical design, in conjunction with high power, low-etendue LEDs which guarantee color reproducibility and high flux density, enables MagicPanel-FX to produce clearly defined, powerful beams that reinforce the visual rendering of 3D volumetric effects.
With 100 channels of LED dies to control, MagicPanel's dimming system uses 8-bit resolution which allows programmable color mixing with 4.29 billion colors. To simplify color mixing, the FX model has a virtual color wheel (VCM) with preset colors matched to popular Rosco gel colors. An electronic dimmer provides pulse width modulation (PWM) for smooth, flicker-free light output adjustment from 0 to 100%. The moving head also features a rapid strobe function with speed adjustment from 1 to 25 flashes per second. The continuous, unlimited rotation on both the pan and tilt axes provided by high-resolution tri-phase stepper motors allows smooth and accurate positioning with variable speeds. Built-in macros for pattern effects with speed and fade controls for scenic applications are also available to assist in rapid programming and deployment. Dimming, zooming, strobing and rotation functionalities are microprocessor-controlled.
The fixture can be managed via standard DMX control in a choice of 3 DMX modes, standalone operation and master/slave synchronization. MagicPanel-FX benefits from extensive line connectivity which is embodied by XLR 5 pin male and female connectors for DMX connection and Ethercon RJ45 IN / OUT connectors for ArtNet & sACN connection. The RDM-capable lighting fixture is equipped with LumenRadio's wireless CRMX TiMo RDM receiver which allows remote configuration, status monitoring, and management of the fixture. Offline configuration and local DMX addressing are executed on a graphical LCD display via 6 additional buttons.
The 1000W LED moving head upholds high standards on thermal engineering to ensure excellent lumen maintenance and color stability throughout the rated fixture life. High power LED lighting inevitably generates a huge amount of heat at the junction point. The high heat flux LED modules are thermally interfaced to a heat pipe-equipped heat sink. The active phase-change liquid cooling system utilizes thermal conductivity and phase transition between evaporation and condensation to deliver high capacity heat transfer. The dissipated heat is eventually evacuated out of the enclosure by two large-diameter fans. The variable speed fans can be set to operate in Auto, Stage or Studio ventilation mode. In Auto mode the fans are controlled by a temperature sensor to ensure the fan speed is kept to a minimum for efficient cooling, maximum energy efficiency and the lowest noise operation. Intelligent overtemperature protection exempts the stage light from damages caused by excessive heat buildup.
The sleek, powerful theatrical fixture is built to deliver a combination of durability, high thermal performance and striking design. The moving-head skeleton is made of aluminum and steel metal plates. Molded covers in self-extinguishing, fire retardant ABS PC (V0 class) provide excellent impact resistance and resist thermal stress. The phase-change heat sink is constructed from thermally efficient aluminum and copper. Two ergonomic side handles insure easy transportation. Rubber feet mounted to the base allow the fixture to stand on its own with high stability. Two 1/4 turn fastening Omega clamps designed for use with standard clamps allow for hassle-free installation and rigging. A safety cable attachment point provides added safety.
The LED moving head is driven by an auto-ranging power supply that accepts 100-240V input. A built-in active power factor correction circuit keeps the line current in phase and in shape with the line voltage while suppressing the harmonic current to reduce distortion in the current waveform. The LED driver has a variety of protection features to ensure that it operates to specification under wide temperature and electrical ranges.
