Comment: The scammer tried to persuade the supplier that his/her company is reliable and urged the supplier to apply for a credit from Sinosure Insurance Company. The scammer provided the legitimate information of Gilbane Building Company, including company registration number, Data Universal Number (DUNS), Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) and other authentic buyer information. Obviously Sinosure Insurance Company has no reason to reject a credit application for transaction with such a reputed buyer. BUT the scammer is not affiliated with Gilbane Building Company, he/she utilized the company's credit details just to make the supplier more convinced of his/her phishing attempt. If the supplier accepts the O/A term, the scammer will be more likely to issue a fake PO with a delivery destination in favor of his/her phishing action.
The story did not continue. The supplier insisted that the scammer to make partial deposit in this order. They spotted the scammer's phishing attempt from the beginning as they found the scammer was using a fake email account and the scammer did not look like a legitimate buyer when the business communication reached to a certain level.
